A redesign is on the way for the Chevy Traverse. The SUV will gain a roomier cabin, more modern tech, and a refreshed exterior. The Chevy Traverse is one of the larger entries in the ultra-competitive midsize SUV class. It has one of the largest cargo capacities vs. many of its competitors, and it features a powerful yet fuel-efficient V6 engine.
2023 Chevy Traverse Exterior and Interior
The Chevy Traverse is already one of the largest SUVs in its class at over 204 inches long. This is around 10 inches more than many of its competitors, which means the Traverse has a ton of interior space, including a third row of seats big enough for adults. Nothing will change there for 2023. However, the exterior should get a small refresh with a revised grille, new front and rear fascias, and more attractive LED headlights. The most popular model of the Traverse is the RS due to its sporty look. However, the top model is the High Country with chrome accents and 20-inch wheels.
2023 Chevy Traverse Technology
More technology is on the horizon for the new 2023 Traverse. The current Traverse cabin is fully modern with a classic ambiance. A large touchscreen is mounted high where it’s easy to see, and several USB ports are located throughout the cabin. Apple and Android connectivity are standard. Several safety-tech features are also standard, but the most advanced features are on the two top trims. These features include lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and automated emergency braking, among others. The new Traverse is expected to get updated technology and more quality cabin materials.
2023 Chevy Traverse Powertrain
The new Chevy Traverse will offer a standard V6 engine for 2023. This engine makes 310 horsepower and will be paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The new Traverse also comes standard with an automatic start/stop system for when you’re idling at lights or in a drive-thru. This feature can easily be turned off with one button if you don’t want to use it. Despite its large size and powerful engine, the Traverse delivers an AWD model with a good fuel economy at 27 MPG on the highway. The standard FWD models of the Traverse post even better numbers. But, if you want AWD, you can rest assured that you won’t have to sacrifice too much in fuel economy.
2023 Chevy Traverse Release and Price
The new Traverse should hit the market sometime before summer in 2022. The price range of the 2023 Traverse is expected to stay roughly the same as the current model. The base LS trim of the Traverse currently starts around $34,000. The highest trim of the Traverse is the High Country, and that one starts around $52,000.
The Chevy Traverse is currently in its second generation, which began in 2018. The updates for 2023 will be the SUV’s first real facelift during this generation.
