Can’t Decide Between the Toyota Camry or Corolla?

Can’t Decide Between the Toyota Camry or Corolla Here’s a Breakdown.

Getting the best sedan for your needs can be difficult when there are so many to choose from – especially from the same reliable brand like Toyota. But maybe you’ve narrowed it down to two of the best Toyota sedans – the Toyota Corolla and vs. Toyota Camry.

Now how do you choose between them? The key to that choice is the breakdown of their similarities and differences below.

The Shared Benefits

What things make a good Toyota sedan?

First, there’s reliability – Toyota is well-known for making reliable, durable cars that don’t break easily. And when they do need repairs or maintenance, it doesn’t cost much.

Next, there are features – both vehicles have great safety and tech across the board, ranging from standard adaptive cruise control to heated seat options.

So if the Toyota Camry and Corolla are both 5-seat sedans with equally-good reliability and most of the same features, how do they stand out?

What Makes Each Model Stand Out

From size and engine to the number of trims, plenty of things set the Camry and Corolla apart – which makes choosing the one that’s right for you that much easier!

Bigger is Better – and More Expensive – for the Toyota Camry

The Toyota Camry is a mid-size sedan, and all that extra space goes to the over 15 cubic feet of cargo room, better ground clearance for city speed bumps, and a nearly 16-gallon fuel tank.

Its base engine is more powerful than the Corolla’s – providing over 200 horsepower – and additional engines in other trims go all the way up to the V6 to turn the Camry from a sedan to a sportscar.

Speaking of trims, the Toyota Camry has 13 to choose from, with everything from hybrids to sport and luxury models.

The downside? Prices for trims range from $26,000 to $36,000, and the bigger engine doesn’t mean better mileage.

The Toyota Corolla Makes Driving Easy with Stellar Fuel Economy and Handling

What the Toyota Camry lacks, the Corolla makes up for!

With a compact size and a continuously variable-speed automatic transmission, the Toyota Corolla has tight handling and a 36 mpg combined fuel economy despite having a less powerful engine and a smaller fuel tank.

With more hybrid options than gas, the 7 trims of the Corolla are distinct and range in cost from $21,000 to $26,000 – just barely touching the cheapest Camry model.

The only real downside of the Corolla is its lack of luxury – likely to remain affordable, there aren’t any luxury or sports trims, and not nearly as many available comfort and tech features as the Camry.

Which is the Better Sedan?

They’re both great Toyota sedans, so the real question is: what are you looking for?

Luxury, variety, more power, and better space are what you get from a Toyota Camry. A Toyota Corolla gives you good fuel economy, better handling, and affordability.

Now that you know the difference, you can choose for yourself! Which one are you going to test drive?
