The 2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron Adds More Electric Luxury to the Mix

The 2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron Adds More Electric Luxury to the Mix

The new 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron heads to the market to slot between the Q4 and Q8 models using nothing but electricity. Could this be the SUV you love to drive?

The Q6 version is ideally located in the middle of the lineup to be a luxurious electric SUV that can offer the right size and equipment. If that were all it did, we wouldn’t want to talk about it. This new electric Audi is the first to use the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture. That means you’ll have an 800-volt electrical system for faster charging, giving you the fast charging desired.

Will the Q6 include AWD?

Not only will this new Audi electric SUV include AWD, it’s expected to ride on a standard AWD layout using a dual-motor powertrain. This means you’ve got an electric motor on each axle to give you the power you want on all four wheels. You’ll have all the grip you could ask for in this new SUV, making it easy to carve up the corners or handle the tough weather when it arrives. We’re not sure if the Q6 will have enough ground clearance to be a useful off-roader, but it could be. This new SUV should deliver more than 300 horsepower and 270 miles of electric driving range.

When should we see this new Audi?

The new 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron should hit our market late in 2024 as a new vehicle for the 2025 model year. It will take on other new electric compact crossovers, including the Genesis GV70 Electric and Lexus RZ450e. The Q6 e-tron should have an advantage because it’s not the first electric SUV from Audi, and it uses the new PPE platform.

Do we know how this new SUV is styled?

We’ve only seen teaser images of the new Q6 e-tron, but it appears to continue with the classic and contemporary style from the brand. Considering this new electric SUV is slotted in the middle, it borrows some styling cues from the Q4 and Q8 models. We know this new SUV will have a split headlight design and a fake grille on the front, much like most electric vehicles. The size of the new Q6 appears to be extremely similar to the Q5. This gives the new Q6 a sporty-looing sloped roofline and an aggressive stance to make it a sporty new model that could be a lot of fun to drive.

What does the Q4 e-tron offer?

Before the new Audi Q6 e-tron arrives, maybe we should offer a look at what’s already part of the Audi electric SUV lineup. The Q4 e-tron comes in two body styles; the standard model and a Sportback design. The Sportback model includes a sloping roofline to give it a sporty look.

This Audi electric SUV drives like an Audi but uses electricity instead of gasoline for the fuel. This means you’ve got a smooth ride inside one of the most impressive cabins in the market. You’ll be glad to feel the gliding ride offered in the Q4.

How many motors does the Q4 e-tron include?

While we don’t know if the Q6 will come with a single-motor version or not, the Q4 e-tron does offer both single and dual-motor versions. The Q4 e-tron 40 has one motor and provides 201 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque. You’ll have 265 miles of driving range in this version. This model can tow up to 2,200 pounds, but that decreases the driving range.

The dual-motor Q4 is the e-tron 50 model, giving you an AWD layout, 295 horsepower, and 339 lb-ft of torque. The regular body style delivers 236 miles of driving range, while the Sportback version has 242 miles of driving range for you. With this dual-motor Q4, you can tow up to 2,650 pounds, but it also loses driving range during towing.

What does the Q8 e-tron include?

The new electric flagship from Audi is the Q8 e-tron. This model sits higher in the lineup than the Audi Q6 e-tron, giving you the size and comfort expected of a top-level Audi SUV. Of course, the new electric Q8 doesn’t arrive until the 2024 model year begins, but it will be a year ahead of the Q6 model.

The Audi electric SUV lineup expands with the new 2025 Q6 e-tron, which is still a mostly unknown entity, but that won’t be the case for much longer. Will the Q6 e-tron be the new electric SUV you love to drive?
