In digital marketing specifically, much of the industry relies on communication with customers and drawing them into your business. 5G technology allows for you to make more connections, and to make those connections faster, allowing for an overall increase in efficiency and success. The potential of 5G is incredibly exciting, and will likely have a widespread effect across the business world, and across the globe. It can impact so many industries, and connect so many people.

Drawbacks of 5G Technology

However, not everything about 5G technology is great. There are some reasons why your business may want to hold off on switching to 5G. First, as is typically the case with the newest, best innovations, 5G is more expensive than other network plans.

If your business is not in the right financial place currently or has better things to spend money on than upgrading network technology, 5G may not be the right choice for you. Additionally, 5G is not available in all areas, especially rural areas. Depending on where your company is located, in an urban, suburban, or rural area, you may not even have the option to use 5G. Or, there is always the possibility that your company is comfortable where it is technologically. 4G technology or another form of network connection may be working perfectly well for you, and it may not be best for you to make a change. But don’t worry- whether you choose 5G technology, or you don’t, WiFi, 4G technology, and other networks are here to stay.

Clearly, there are some great benefits to 5G. Its speed, large number of connections, and the promise it has in the business world make it a great option for technology for your business. Weigh the pros against the cons for your specific company to see if 5G is right for you.
