It differs from platforms like Facebook or Instagram in that it’s a place for people to connect focused on professional topics, rather than a place to share personal posts, family photos, or day-to-day activities. Showing up in a search and sharing quality content are just two pieces of the social media puzzle. If you’re sharing good stuff, your customers and future customers are likely to engage with your content by liking, commenting, and sharing your posts.

Social media platforms can be a great place for B2B companies to engage with current customers, share thought leadership, and expand their online presence. If your resources are limited, start with one platform and learn how to execute it well before expanding to the other platforms. At the end of the day, it’s all about figuring out where your customers hang out online and getting involved in the conversations that they’re having.
