2023 Ford Explorer vs 2023 GMC Acadia

2023 Ford Explorer vs 2023 GMC Acadia

The midsize SUV market is bursting with vehicles offering all kinds of benefits, equipment, and safety features. Two of the popular SUVs in this segment are the Ford Explorer and the GMC Acadia. Let’s look at a comparison between the 2023 Ford Explorer vs 2023 GMC Acadia and see which one comes out on top.

Engines That Perform at Any Level

The 2023 Explorer offers two gas engines and a hybrid. The base powertrain is a 2.3-liter four-cylinder that puts out 300 horsepower, but if you want more power, the optional 3.0-liter V-6 develops 365 horsepower. Under the hood of the ST model, you’ll find a different version of this V-6 that puts out 400 horsepower.

The Acadia also offers engine options. The base powertrain is a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder with 228 horsepower, but you can opt for the 3.6-liter V-6, which gets you 310 horsepower.

High-End Interior Features

Both the Ford Explorer and the Acadia have spacious cabins that come filled with high-quality features. The Acadia has a premium feel at any trim level with standard tri-zone automatic climate control, six-passenger seating, and high-quality upholstery. Leather upholstery is standard in all models except the base trim, and you’ll also get heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and ventilated front seats as you make your way up the lineup.

The Explorer also comes well-equipped with features in the cabin designed to keep passengers comfortable. It has a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 50/50 split-folding third row, and cloth upholstery, but you can get leather upholstery for a higher-end feel, along with a power-adjustable passenger seat and heated seats.

Technology to Connect and Entertain

When you hit the road in the GMC Acadia, the tech features in the cabin help you stay connected and entertained. The entry-level model has an 8-inch touch screen for the infotainment system, and it has five USB ports, so everyone can plug their phone in. Wireless charging comes in the high-end Denali, which also has a head-up display.

The Base Explorer has similar tech features as the entry-level Acadia, and this SUV also offers upgrades and added technology, such as a 12-speaker stereo system, wireless charging, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel that sits in front of the driver.

Safety on All Sides

Whether you choose the Ford Explorer or the GMC Acadia, you’ll have active driver aids to keep you and others around you safe. The 2023 GMC Acadia comes with a forward collision warning system with automatic braking, front and rear parking sensors, and a blind-spot monitor that will warn you if

someone is in your blind spot. These systems also come in the 2023 Explorer, and both offer even more safety systems in the higher trim levels.

Tight parking spots are a breeze with the available 360-degree surround-view camera system, and if you get the adaptive cruise control feature, it helps you keep a set distance from the car in front of you when traveling on the highway.
