Ford Mustang Mach-E: A New Electric SUV Packed with Surprises

Ford Mustang Mach-E: A New Electric SUV Packed with Surprises

The Ford Mustang name has been around for more than 50 years, but early drivers couldn’t have imagined the Mach-E electric SUV version.

The early days of the Ford Mustang gave us imaginative style, impressive unassisted power, and a classic name that turned this car into an icon. When Ford chose to use this popular name for its first electric SUV, some screamed in frustration, but Ford went forward with the plan and created the Mach-E.

Today, this EV is one of the most popular choices in the market. Let’s look at a few interesting things about this electric SUV that you’re sure to admire.

Ford added Easter Eggs to the Mach-E

Ford took a page out of the Jeep Wrangler book and added some Easter Eggs for you to discover when looking at the details of this impressive electric SUV. The word “horsepower” is inscribed behind the charger point cover and the Mustang logo can be found under the movable rubber paddings on some of the surfaces. In all, there are more than 20 Easter Eggs on the Mach-E making it fun for new owners to start looking for these little details.

Adequate towing capacity for adventures

You don’t need massive towing capability to have a fun weekend at the lake or campground. The new Ford Mustang Mach-E can tow up to 3,306 pounds, which is more than enough to pull a small boat, a camping trailer, or a pair of jet skis to where you want to go. This makes the Mach-E much more capable than other EVs for sale that don’t offer any towing power. This towing level is higher than originally offered in early versions of this SUV, which were limited to 2,204 pounds.

Ford adds more driver assistance features to this electric SUV

Several new driver assistance features have been added through the infotainment system to increase the safety and driving capabilities. Modern EVs are equipped with incredible collision avoidance systems and some of the new features found in the Mustang Mach-E are:

    • Adaptive cruise control
    • Speed limit assist
    • Lane-keeping assist
    • Pre-collision assist
    • Rearview camera delay
    • Blind-spot information
    • Cross-traffic alerts
    • Reverse brake assist
    • Auto hold
    • Traction control

These added items make this electric SUV safer and better equipped than before.

You could hear some engine sounds in the Mustang Mach-E

The Ford Mustang Mach-E is powered by electric motors, which allow you to ride in silence, but that removes some of the fun of a Mustang. The Mach-E features three different sound options to give you the selves you want. These three levels are Engage, Whisper, and Unbridled with the Unbridled mode being the loudest and the Whisper mode offering the quietest ride on the road. These sounds aren’t only for the driving pleasure, but also to warn pedestrians of an upcoming EV.

Accessing the Mach-E is easy

Ford offers three ways to access your electric SUV. The new Mach-E uses technology that first appeared on Ford vehicles in 1980 with a keypad entry that can easily unlock the vehicle when the right code is entered. You can also use an app on your smartphone or the key fob to unlock the Mach-E. All three methods of unlocking this vehicle require that you have the key fob in your pocket to open the doors, making it easy to find the system you’re comfortable using.

Could the Mach-E become a Ford sub brand?

Ford created the new Mustang Mach-E without any Ford badges on this vehicle. Will Ford eventually turn the Mach-E into a sub brand? Maybe they intend to use the Mustang name for several vehicles as the sub brand. This isn’t the first time a Ford has been almost entirely void of brand badging. The Ford Bronco came with only one Ford blue oval badge on the vehicle when it returned to the market. This unbadging could mean the Mustang Mach-E is meant to be as unique as possible.

The Mach-E is ready to party

Bring the ice and the drinks to the party in the large frunk at the front of the Mustang Mach-E. This impressive electric SUV has a 4.7 cubic-foot frunk under the hood, which is the perfect place for some ice and drinks. The frunk has an automatic drain built into the bottom that drains water when its sensed in the area. This means your ice can melt and the water will be gone without having to physically open a plug in the bottom of this frunk.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E is an interesting, popular, and useful electric SUV that brings excellent styling and power, useful cargo space, and lots of capabilities. Is this the new EV for you?
