Get Ready to Go EV Shopping at Your Chevrolet Dealership

Chevrolet Electric Vehicles

The vehicle lineup you see at your nearby Chevrolet dealership will soon be much different from what it has been. General Motors has committed to a future that includes a lineup of electric vehicles beyond what we have now, and that means more models that will be powered solely by electricity.

Not only will you find a variety of new electric models at Chevy, if you want a Buick, GMC, or Cadillac electric vehicle, they will be offered as well. The future of driving is electrifying, and Chevrolet is at the forefront.

The Bolt Got Us Started

It doesn’t seem that long ago when the Bolt EV was brand new. This EV came to the market at the same time as the Tesla Model 3, and it was a battle right from the start. The Bolt EV became the more popular choice right away. With their knowledge of mass production processes, the GM vehicle was able to be offered at dealerships around the country before Tesla could fulfill preorders by customers that had been waiting for their Model 3. This gave Chevy the proof needed to move forward with the next phase of the EV plan.

Now, the Bolt is Bigger

For the 2022 model year, we have a larger version of the Chevy Bolt EV called the Bolt EUV. This simply stands for Electric Utility Vehicle, and this model is a subcompact crossover SUV that’s based on the Bolt platform. You can find this capable and interesting small SUV at your nearby Chevrolet dealership and enjoy the drive that you expect to find in this Chevy. You’ll be pleased to have the added cargo room and higher stance offered by a utility vehicle that fits everywhere and can be ideal for your daily drive.

What’s Next?

The Pickup Truck

The next electric vehicle that will be part of the Chevy lineup is a full-size pickup truck. This new model will start by being an addition to the Silverado 1500 lineup, much like the Ford F-150 Lightning has become part of the lineup for the F-150. When this new truck arrives, it’s expected to be tough, rugged, powerful, and capable, making it a fitting addition to your daily work life. This truck should use the GM Ultium battery platform to offer excellent power, fast charging, and the driving range needed for a full day on the job site.

A Pair of Crossover Will Enter the Market

Once we have the new electric version of the Silverado, the next addition to the Chevrolet EV lineup will be a pair of crossovers that fit right into the mix. Could these crossovers be built in the platform of the Equinox and Blazer, or will the Trailblazer be chosen instead of the Equinox? WE don’t know much about these models yet, but once they arrive, that will bring the total of electric vehicles offered at your nearby Chevrolet dealership to five, giving you an excellent selection.

You Could See Sedans at Chevy Again

Do you miss the sedans that used to be part of the Chevrolet lineup? The Impala, Cruise, and Sonic were all deleted, only leaving the midsize Malibu to be the single sedan you could buy. News from GM tells us there is a plan for what is going to be called “low-roof entries” that will be electric and wear the Chevrolet badge. These are believed to be sedan models, but that doesn’t mean they will be. These new car-type EVs aren’t expected to arrive until the first five EV models are established.

What Are Other GM Brands Going to Offer?

Your Chevrolet dealership isn’t the only place where you will find electric vehicles from the GM team. Going forward, you could stop by Buick, GMC, and Cadillac locations and find models that are full-electrified to give you the zero-emissions drive that you want to enjoy. Let’s take a look at what each brand currently offers and will bring you going forward.

Buick

We don’t have any EV models wearing the Buick badge right now, but the future will give us a pair of crossovers that will. With the entire Buick lineup reduced to three crossovers right now, we can expect to see these models built on current platforms while adding the Ultium battery pack to the mix.
The crossovers that are planned for Buick will fit into the compact and midsize ranges, but that leaves a little ambiguity in the discussion. The Enclave is a midsize crossover that could be considered a full-size model as well. Will GM electrify the Buick Enclave, Envision, or Encore GX? Any combination of two of these models will certainly be intriguing.

GMC

The star of the show has already arrived for GMC with the Hummer EV that is being sold for the 2022 model year. This amazing pickup truck will soon be joined by a Hummer EV SUV version and an electrified version of the Sierra 1500. You should expect to see the electric Sierra released alongside the Silverado 1500 EV considering these two trucks share a platform and powertrains.

Cadillac

The newest member of the Cadillac lineup has arrived ,and the Lyriq is already turning heads with incredible style and electric driving performance. There are several models planned for the GM luxury brand to add more electrification to the lineup.
As we move forward, you will see the Celestiq, which will be another new Cadillac model, along with electrified versions of the Escalade, XT4, and XT6 models. GM has also told us that “low-roof entries” will be added to this brand, much the same as the Chevrolet models. Hopefully, this means we will see some electrified sedans from Cadillac as well.

Get Electrified at Chevrolet

It won’t be long before nearly every vehicle you want to buy at your nearby Chevrolet dealership will have an electric variant offered. As you can see, the entire GM brand family will have several electric vehicles offered to give us the drive we want and vehicles that never need an ounce of gas to get us where we need to go.
