Unleashing the Future With the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV

Another popular automaker joins the EV truck fray with the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV. Find out what to expect when you head to the Chevy dealership.

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Hits the Road

Not long ago, even early EV adopters were still unsure whether electric pickups could perform well enough to be worth the wait.
Now, buyers have several impressive options to choose from, including a new one found at the local Chevy dealership: the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV.

Power and Performance for Just About Any Job

The 2024 Silverado EV is powered by two electric motors that are good for 510 hp in the entry-level Work Truck 3WT and 4WT models or 754 hp in the high-end RST First Edition. AWD comes standard, though drivers can also get optional RWD.
Even the lower trim levels provide plenty of power and acceleration, with the 4WT hitting 60 mph in less than 5.5 seconds. Of course, most buyers are more interested in how it will handle tough jobs rather than how fast it gets up to speed. They won’t be disappointed.

The 2024 Silverado EV models currently available at Chevy dealership showrooms can tow up to 10,000 lbs and have max payload capacities of 1,400 lbs. However, Chevy has also stated that another model with a 20,000-lb towing capacity will eventually join the lineup.

Competitive Range and Charging Times

Range and charging times are essential considerations for any electric vehicle. The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV is no exception, but there’s good news. It performs admirably in both these arenas.

The Silverado EV uses GM’s novel Ultium batteries. A 200 kWh battery pack using this tech gives the Silverado EV 4WT an EPA-estimated driving range of 450 miles on a 100% charge. The 3WT doesn’t perform quite as well, coming in at 393 miles of range.
Of course, pickup trucks differ from EV sedans and SUVs since they’re built to tow and haul heavy loads. The Silverado EV should handle towing with ease, but it will slightly impact its range. Thankfully, drivers can add 100 miles of range in 10 minutes of fast charging at public stations.

An Equally Modern Interior

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV has a stylish, modern feel inside and out. Though the base models are relatively spartan, they’re perfect for tradespeople. The RST and RST First Edition offer touches of luxury like leather upholstery. All models have generous cabin space.

Every Chevrolet Silverado EV has a digital dashboard with an 11-inch infotainment touchscreen and an 8.0-inch digital gauge display. Upgrading to the RST gets buyers an impressive 17.0-inch infotainment and 11.0-inch gauge display.

The RST trims outperform the entry-level 3WT and 4WT regarding features, but things like automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection come standard on all models. Chevy also makes the brand’s hands-free Super Cruise system available on high-end trims.

It’s Time to Head to the Chevy Dealership

The future is here, and it’s time to meet it at the local Chevy dealership. Drivers will have four trim levels for now, and Chevrolet plans to expand the lineup in the coming years.
