Are You Reaching Your Digital Audience?

Are You Reaching Your Digital Audience?

One of the toughest groups of people to entertain can be the digital audience you build online which needs your constant attention.

You’ll need to have the right type of content to not only reach them but to also keep their attention on your business long enough for them to make a purchase from your company. There are some ways to simply reach an audience, but if you want to consistently drive traffic to your content, these four suggestions are what you need.

Four Great Ways to Drive Content to Your Digital Audience

Headlines Matter, Spend Time With Them

How many times do you consume content by only reading the headline? Many of us have done this many times and according to the Washington Post, nearly six out of every ten of their readers only review the headlines and nothing more. This is enough for you to know that your headlines matter.

You want to make sure your digital audience is going to actually consume the content of what you offer them. To do this, you need to make sure your headlines are compelling, attention-grabbing, and don’t tell the entire story in one line. If you leave something out and offer a reason for your readers to click on the story or video and see what you’re trying to tell them, you will have a better chance of reaching your audience.

Make Your Content More Personal

If you have a specific audience that you’re trying to reach, you can easily personalize your content to the experiences that each individual has had with your organization. For example, if you’re a car dealership, you can send an email to your customers to thank them specifically for the vehicle they have purchased and mention the salesperson, the vehicle, and some of the details from the experience.

When you’re trying to reach a broader audience and want to put your content out to the public, you can still reach your digital audience by considering something that’s pretty common to everyone and their experiences. An example could be offering how-to videos to use the products you sell or speaking about a common homeownership issue that nearly everyone faces in their lives. These are great ways to connect with your audience and keep them interested.

You’ve Got to Tell Stories to Your Digital Audience

From an early age, we are all drawn to storytellers and stories that share information with us. This is how our early history was passed down from one generation to another and how we learn things as we grow. No matter the type of content you’re going to share, you need to find a way to make it a story and offer this story to your audience.

When you create a story out of your content, you make it more than just engaging, you make it memorable. That story could be of failures from the past or the wrong way to do something and what can happen. Find a way to add a bit of humor to the story when appropriate and connect with your digital audience through the content you offer that tells the stories you’re ready to share.

Variety Can be Your Best Friend

If you offer the same how-to video once a week and that’s the only content you offer your digital audience, you’re not going to capture their attention and keep them engaged. There’s nothing wrong with having a weekly offering of the same subject, but you must diversify your content to bring in several different audience members that may want to connect with you.

Offer several different options and ways to consume the varied content that you’re going to offer online. This can be done by posting content on social media, creating web pages for your audience to visit, and sending out emails to individuals that are willing to be part of your mailing list. This allows you to offer your content in a manner that will work well for those who are connecting to you and your company.

Get Connected with Your Digital Audience

You have an audience waiting for you online, all you need to do is figure out how to connect with them. The fact that we have proof that people will connect with and consume nearly all types of content means you can reach a broad group online when you have the right story to tell them. Create the headlines, content, stories, and variety needed to make sure your digital audience will see what you’re offering and connect with you and your company.
