Looking Forward to the Electric Version of the BMW iX3

BMW is going electric in the SUV realm with the new BMW iX3.  This will be the newest addition to the “i” subbrand of vehicles from BMW.

BMW continues to march forward with its electric division to give you more of the models you want when its time to have the drive desired. The newest model coming to the market is the all-new, all-electric, BMW iX3 which will be a crossover that has the build and the electric drive desired.

This new version of the X3 will do more than simply expand the lineup of electric models offered at BMW, it will also expand the program to build more models in other areas of the world.

What Will We See in the BMW iX3?

The starting point when discussing any new electric vehicle is to figure out what it will offer and how it can be the right vehicle to drive. This SUV will use a 74 kW battery pack which is located in the floor to power the electric motor.

The output numbers expected are 286 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. The motor is 30 percent lighter than previous models with similar ratings and this SUV is expected to be able to give you up to 273 miles of driving on the electric power of one full charge.

This BMW is Built Somewhere Else

Most of the SUVs we see from the BMW brand come right from the production line of the Spartanburg, SC plant. This new electric SUV will be produced in Shenyang, China as part of the BMW Brilliance Automotive joint venture.

You can enjoy the drive in the new BMW iX3 and know that you’ve got an SUV the comes to you with the luxury feeling and the drive you want when you get behind the wheel. This SUV has the right size and is part of expanding the global reach and relationship of this brand.

A Useful BMW Drive System

The new eDrive system offered in the BMW iX3 is one that brings you its fifth-generation of technology and it’s a system that’s fully scalable. This means the motor and the batteries could be used for a variety of models in the BMW lineup that are going to be offered as electric vehicles for the future.

The driving setup of the iX3 is an RWD layout which is what you expect from the BMW brand, but it could be improved by being offered with an AWD version to give you more of the driving dynamics that you want when you take a ride.

When Will We See the BMW iX3

The expected time to the dealerships of the new BMW iX3 is for the 2021 model year. This SUV will lead the way as part of a four-pronged offensive with the rest of the lineup.

This new model will be added to the mix to join the gasoline and diesel models along with the upcoming plug-in hybrid X3 xDrive30e which is new to the market as well. You can enjoy the drive in the iX3 once it arrives at the BMW dealer in your area.
